Wayne Helliwell Jr. and the Bruce Bernhardt Motorsports team heading into the final American Canadian Tour points event with the weight of the racing world on their shoulders. In what has been a career year for Wayne Helliwell Jr. the motto heading in the final weeks of racing action is “Finish Strong”. As the American Canadian Tour headed into Vermont for round #9 of the series championship Wayne Helliwell Jr. and Brian Hoar have combined to win half the series races in 2012. Sunday marked the 34th running of Bond Auto Parts Labor Day Classic at the famed high banks of Thunder Road Speedbowl. Friday night heading into Lee USA Speedway’s double feature night Wayne Helliwell Jr. and the Scherbon Consolidated Inc. Going into the championship night at Canaan Fair Speedway Wayne Helliwell Jr. and the Bruce Bernhardt Motorsports team had not finished worse than 3rd in 17 races at the New Hampshire oval. In fact they have either won or finished 3rd in every race this year. Helliwell who has claimed 12 weekly racing victories and the none points season opener SUBWAY Fresh Fit 150; at one point went 10 wins in a row. The busy calendar year of Wayne Helliwell Jr.’s racing schedule is in full swing as tracks and series are coming to a close across the New England region. In a 8 day span Helliwell and his two race teams will have competed in almost as many races. Helliwell started last Friday night at Lee USA Speedway with twin feature events behind the wheel of the Scherbon Consolidated Inc., 350 Small Block Supermodified. Wayne Helliwell Jr. and the Bruce Bernhardt owned Ekeys-4-Cars, Unique Ford Fusion team headed north of the border for the first time in 2012; as race #7 on the American Canadian Tour stopped at Sanair Super Speedway in St. Pie, QC.
